1 c. butter, softened
1 c. white sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. ground cardamom
1 tsp. ground cinammon
1/2 tsp. ground mace
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/8 tsp white pepper
1 tsp. salt
2-3/4 c. all purpose flour (or as needed)

Preheat oven to 350º. Grease 2-3 baking sheets. Beat the butter and sugar together in a mixing bowl until light and fluffy. Mis in the eggs one at a time, beating well after each. Stir in cardamom, mace, cinnamon, cloves, pepper and salt until well blended. Mix in flour, on cup at a time, until the dough gathers together. With floured hands, pinch off small, 1/2 tsp. amounts of dough, roll into tiny balls and place on baking sheets (or roll into 3/8" ropes and cut into small pieces). Bake until bottom of cookies are light tan (10-12 minutes). cool 15 minutes on sheets.
