1/3 c melted butter
1 cup sugar
2 eggs
1/4 tsp almond extract
1 1/2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1 tablespoon grated lemon rind
1/2 cup chopped nuts
3 tablespoons lemon juice
1/4 cup sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Blend butter & sugar well. Beat in eggs one at a top. Add extract. Sift together dry ingredients & add to egg mixture alternately with milk. Blend to mix. Fold in peel & nuts. Turn into greased loaf pan & bake at 325º for 70 minutes.

Mix 3 tbsp lemon juice with 1/4 cup sugar. Immediately upon removing loaf from oven, spoon mixture over loaf. Cool 10 minutes & remove from pan. Cool on rack.
