1/2 lb. bacon, chopped
1 c. chopped yellow onions
Fresh ground pepper
1 T. chopped garlic
5 lg. eggs
3 c. buttermilk,
2 T. Steen's cane syrup
Dash of hot sauce
Dash of Worchestershire
2 t. salt
4 c. crumbled cornbread
1/2 c. grated Parm-Reggiano

Preheat to 350º
Grease 2 qt. glass rectangular pan with butter.
Lg. saute pan, render bacon until crispy about 6-8 min. Add onions and saute for 4 min or until soft. Season onions with pepper. Add garlic and remove from heat.
In mixing bowl, whisk eggs, buttermilk and syrup.
Add bacon mixture and stir well. Season with hot sauce and Worchestershire.
Add cornbread, salt, cheese. Mix well.
Pour into pan and bake about 55 min until golden and bubbly.
Cool for 5 min before serving.
