2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp cloves
1/2 tsp nutmet
1 tsp cinnamon
1 cube butter
1 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup raisins
1 cup ground nuts - walnuts or pecans
1 cup thick apple sauce
2 TBS chocolate powder

Directions:

1. Sift flour with baking soda, salt and spices.

2. Cream butter gradually adding sugar and mix until creamy.

3. Add eggs beating well after each egg. Add raisins and nuts.

4. Alternately add dry ingredients and apple sauce beating smooth after each addition.

5. Turn batter into greased and paper lined loaf pan.

Bake at 350º for 1 hour and 15 minutes

Cake can be eaten with or without frosting. If you'd like to frost, use a cream cheese frosting made with cream cheese, powder sugar, lemon juice, and cream.
