1 cup sugar
1/4 cup shortening
1 can tomato soup
2 cups flour
1 tsp baking soda
2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp nutmeg
1 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp cloves
1 cup raisins
1/2 cup walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Blend shortening with the sugar. Add tomato soup and baking soda. Sift dry ingredients and add to the first mixture. Stir in nuts and raisins. Pour into a greased 7x11 inch baking pan. Bake in moderate oven (350º) for 45 to 50 minutes.

Frost with Cream Cheese Frosting. (See recipe)

This was my mother in law's (Connie Casieri) family favorite cake. Don't let the name fool you. It's great. It's also called "Italian Spice Cake".
