4 c flour
1 1/2 tsp salt
1 tsp Baking powder
1/2 c shortening
1 c warm water (maybe more, depending on dough)

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together the dry ingredients. Cut in the shortening and mix well. Add enough warm water to make a soft dough but not sticky. Turn onto a lightly floured board and knead a few times. Divide into 14 balls the size of eggs and cover with a cloth. Let stand for about 20 minutes. Roll out the balls into flat pancakes. Cook on an ungreased skillet over moderate heat.
