1/4 cup butter
1 cup light brown sugar (packed)
1 egg
3/4 cup flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/2 tsp salt
1/2 tsp vanilla
1/2 cup coarsely chopped walnuts

Directions:
Directions:
Melt butter over low heat. Remove from heat and stir in 1 cup brown sugar till blended. Cool, stir in one egg. Sift together and stir in flour, baking powder and salt. Stir in vanilla and walnuts.
Spread into a well greased 8 inch square pan. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes, until, when touched lightly with finger, only a slight imprint remains. Don't overbake. Cut into bars while still warm.
