1 lb (about 2 1/2 cups) candied red cherries cut into pieces
1 lb (2 1/2 cups) candied pineapple
1 lb (3 cups) raisins
1 lb (4 cups) chopped pecans
4 c sifted flour
2 tsp baking powder
2 c butter
4 tsp lemon juice
2 1/4 c sugar
6 large eggs

spices are omitted from this recipe but there's another that includes 1 tsp cinnamon, 1 tsp nutmeg and 1/2 tsp cloves

Bake in 10 in tube pan at 275º for 4 1/2 hours (makes 7 lb cake). Place a shallow pan containing 3 cups of water on bottom rack in oven during baking time.
