3-4 pork shoulder steaks (1.5 lbs.), cubed
8 oz. fresh mushrooms
4-5 small tomatoes
2 1/2 - 3 cups water
4 Tbsp. cornstarch
1/4 cup water
1 Tbsp. sugar
Salt and pepper, as desired

Brown pork in large skillet until fully cooked. Remove the meat and set aside. Clean and cut mushrooms and tomatoes and add to the meat juices, water and soy sauce. When the liquid comes to a boil, separately dissolve cornstarch in 1/4 cup water and stir in to thicken the liquids. Return cooked meat to the skillet ingredients. When tomato peels begin to separate, remove them and add the sugar, salt and pepper until mixture reaches desired gravy consistency.
