1/2 cup sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3 tbsp corn starch
2 tbsp flour
3 egg yolks slightly beaten
2 cups milk
1 tbsp butter
2 tbsp cocoa
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Meringue
3 egg whites
6 tbsp sugar
1 tsp corn starch

Directions:
Directions:
Combine dry ingredients. Place in heavy pan or double boiler and add milk gradually cooking over medium heat till mixture begins to thicken. Remove from heat. Mix a little of the hot mixture into egg yolks. Blend in rest of the hot mixture. Cook until thick. Add butter and vanilla. For meringue, beat egg whites until stiff and gradually add the sugar mixed with the cornstarch. Beat constantly until sugar is blended. Pour into baked pie shell and cook at 350º until meringue is browned.
