1 c. soft shortening
2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
1/2 c. sour milk
2 c. sifted plain flour1
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. pecans
2 c. candid cherries
or candied pineapple
2 c. chopped dates

Directions:
Directions:
Combine shortening, sugar, eggs, milk, flour, soda, and salt and mix well. Mix into batter broken pecans;candied cherries or candied pineapple, cut up and chopped dates. Chill at least 1 hour. Drop by rounded tsp. on lightly greased baking sheet. Place pecan half on each cookie. Bake 8-10 minutes at 350 degrees until set.
