1 lb round steak- thin sliced
3 carrots - thin sliced
1 green or red bell pepper - sliced in long thin strips
6-8 green onions -cut into 1/2" pieces
¼ cup soy sauce
2 Tbsp Crisco
2 tsp sugar
¼ tsp black pepper
¼ cup water
1tsp garlic salt
1 Tbsp cornstarch
1 can mushrooms
1- 8oz can water chestnuts -sliced
cooked rice (1 cup for each serving)

Directions:
Directions:
Brown steak in Crisco. Pour off drippings and add enough water to equal 1 cup total. (add back to meat) Combine soy, sugar, pepper, garlic salt and add to meat. Cover and cook slowly for 20 min. Add carrots, peppers, onions, mushrooms and chestnuts. Cover and cook another 15 min. Combine cornstarch with cool water for thickener and add to skillet for a thin gravy. Serve over rice.
