1 pre-baked prepared or home-made pie shell

Filling:
1 cup sugar
1 heaping Tablespoon corn starch
1/2 teaspoon salt
Rind and strained juice of 1 1/2 lemons
Yokes of 3 large eggs
1 cup milk
1 cup water

Meringue:
Whites of above eggs
1 teaspoon vanilla
pinch of salt
teaspoon of sugar (or so)

Directions:
Directions:
Step 1- Preheat oven to 300ºF

Step 2- Stir filling until well blended and cook until thick in double boiler. Do not boil!
Pour filling into pie shell.

Step 3- Beat egg whites until stiff adding a little salt and sugar, add vanilla during process.

Step 4- Spread meringue on top of pie filling and brown in slow oven about 20 minutes or until pretty color.
