1 cup sugar
1 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon cornstarch
3 cups evaporated milk
1 cup water
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Combine sugar, salt, and cornstarch in saucepan. Mix 1 cup evaporated milk with water; add to sugar. Cook on medium heat until slightly thickened, stirring occasionally. Beat eggs. Stir small portion of milk-sugar mixture into eggs. Return to rest of mixture in saucepan; cook for 2 or 3 minutes longer. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and 2 cups evaporated milk. Pour into 1/2 gallon electric ice cream freezer. Cover. Use a mixture of 5 parts crushed ice and 1 part salt to pack freezer. Freeze and pack according to instructions with freezer. Allow to stand 2 or 3 hours before serving. Add 2 cups fruit of your choice. (makes 1/2 gallon)
