2 c flour
1 tsp salt
5 tsp baking powder
2 T sugar
1 c milk
2 eggs
2/3 c melted shortening, or oil

Directions:
Directions:
Mix and sift dry ingredients. Stir in milk slowly, beating well. Amount of milk needed will vary, and batter will be thinner than for pancakes. Add eggs well beaten, then oil. Pour from a pitcher into smoking hot waffle iron. Waffles are best when made at the table and eaten at once.
