1 1/2 cups chopped fresh basil (in food processor)
6 T. extra virgin olive oil
7 cloves garlic, chopped in food processor
3/4 cup shredded, not grated, parmesan cheese
6 T. pine nuts, chopped in food processor

Directions:

Combine all ingredients. Spoon into ice cube trays, cover well and freeze. Pop out whatever amount you need, whenever you need it.

My sister, Margie, and I spent an afternoon coming up with this recipe. We used fresh basil from her garden. I still raid her garden every year in August to make this pesto. It's great in eggs, pasta, seafood, chicken, the possibilities are endless!
