1 c. boiling water
1 lb. Payne's Mild sausage
1 lb. brown sugar
2 c. plain flour
1/2 lb. seedless raisins
1 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp cloves
3/4 tsp. nutmeg
1/2 lb. mixed fruit
1/4 c. chopped nuts

Directions:
Directions:
Add water to sausage. Mix until fine. Add brown sugar & flour (sifted with soda and spices). Add raisins, nuts, and mixed fruits. Grease pan. Line with brown paper & grease paper also. Place a pan of warm water under cake while baking.
Bake 1 1/2 hours in moderate oven @ 325 degrees. (If you don't line pan with brown paper, bake 1 hours or less.)
