7 can (303) size (303) size apples sliced
2 1/2 lbs. sugar
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 quart water
1 tsp. salt
6 ten-inch pie crusts
1 lb brown sugar
12 oz. coconut
12 oz. pecan pieces
1 1/2 lbs. Crisco
1 tsp. salt
2 lbs. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix sugar, cinnamon and salt together and add to apples and water. Cook until boiling. Stir in 8 oz. cornstarch mixed with a pint of water. Cook until thickened and set aside to cool. Pour apple mixture in unbaked pie shells and cover generously with topping. Bake at 350º until brown.

Topping: Mix lightly by hand brown sugar, coconut, pecan pieces, Crisco and salt. Mix together until crumbly but not dry or wet. (This topping will keep well and may be used as needed.)
