1 lb. stew meat, cut in bite size pieces and browned
4 large carrots, diced
4 large potatoes, diced
1 small onion, chopped
1 small pkg frozen peas
1 pt. (2 cups) tomato juice
1/2 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 tsp sugar
1 tablespoon instant tapioca

Directions:
Directions:
In dutch oven or heavy kettle, combine the first five ingredients. Sprinkle seasoning and tapioca over the mixture. DO NOT STIR! Pour the tomato juice over all. No need to stir. Put lid on kettle. Bake in oven for 5 hours at 250 degrees. Do not open while stew is cooking.
Eat, and enjoy!

(I serve with a small salad and some garlic bread)
I always send my guests home with some Tums, too! :)
