3 whole eggs
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup Wesson oil
2 cups flour (plain)
1 cup buttermilk
1 c. prunes (precooked to soften and chopped)
1 cup pecans
1 T. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. ground allspice
1 tsp vanilla
1 tsp salt

Icing
1 cup sugar
1 cup buttermilk
1 stick butter
1 tsp soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 T. white syrup

Directions:
Directions:
Precook prunes in small amount of water until softened. Chop or cut into small pieces and set aside.
Beat sugar, eggs, and oil together. Add flour, spices, buttermilk and vanilla and mix well. Stir in prunes and pecans. Cook at 350º for 1 hour.

Icing:
Melt butter, add sugar and soda. Add all other ingredients and bring to rolling bowl for 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour over cake and allow to soak in before serving.
