Personal Notes:
This recipe is another from The Boston Cooking School Cook Book by Fannie Merritt Farmer. Fannie Farmer was better known when I was growing up for a chain of wonderful candy stores. Up until the turn of the century (to 2000), small versions of the stores were found in lots of malls.
This is the chocolate sauce recipe my home-economics-teacher mother marked “Excellent” in the book, in pencil. One favorite way we had it was poured over an ice-cream-filled éclair.
