1 whole small boneless chicken (or your favorite pieces)
1½ cups of short grain rice (washed and drained) Or #2 bulgur
1 onion (finely chopped)
4 tbsp butter
2 or 3 bay leaves
1 cinnamon stick
2½ tsp salt (or to taste)
½ tsp black pepper
½ tsp ground nutmeg (or one whole nutmeg cracked in half)
1 can (14 oz) tomato sauce
1 gallon water to cook

*If you'd like to use a shortcut for this recipe, use a store cooked rotisserie chicken. Clean it from the skin and bones.

Directions:
Place the chicken in a pot and cover it with water. Then add, onion, rice, salt, cinnamon stick, bay leaf, nutmeg and black pepper.

Cover the pot and bring to boil. Lower the heat to medium stir occasionally and cook until the rice and chicken are fully cooked and tender.

Add the tomato sauce, stir and turn the heat on low to simmer for 20 more minutes. (add water if too thick.)
