Personal Notes:
This recipe was one of my all time family favorite dessert recipe by far! I could always count on my mother making this for Thanksgiving and Christmas. It was always great having leftovers during vacation week. Here is the story behind this custard pie. WHEN CALVIN COOLIDGE WENT TO THE WHITE HOUSE HE REQUESTED CUSTARD PIE FROM THE COOK. IT DIDN'T SATISFY HIM SO HE SENT BACK TO VERMONT FOR THIS RECIPE. Now I can remember this recipe since I was a little girl. I think it will be one that will be passed on for many generations to come. As I understand it, there is no need to wish anyone luck making this, as you positively won't need it. So there you have it, Calvin Coolidge's Favorite Custard Pie and mine too... Enjoy and cherish. This is one for the books.
