Directions:
Mix dry ingredients and cut in the shortening. Once shortening is mixed in add:
1 cup of milk (may need more or less milk—add enough to turn into a dough). Kneed the dough about 5 or 6 times. Roll out on a floured surface into a rectangle. Dot the dough with butter, sprinkle with brown sugar and cinnamon. Roll up and cut into 1 inch wedges and bake on an un-greased cookie sheet in 400º F oven for 15 minutes or more. (You will know they are done when you can lift the top with a fork.) While still hot transfer to wire rack and ice with frosting.

Frosting:
Mix 1 cup of powdered sugar, 1-2 T. butter, a tad of salt and a tad of vanilla. Add enough milk to make frosting a consistency to drizzle over rolls.

Personal Notes:
My Mother made these rolls while I was growing up as a treat and they were always a favorite. I then made them for my children and they were usually gone in a hurry.
