Ingredients:
Ingredients:
1-1 1/2 lbs of chicken breasts (boneless, skinless)
2 sticks of real salted butter
garlic salt
4 pkgs of Mrs. Reames Frozen Egg Noodles
5-32oz. cartons of Swanson's chicken broth

Directions:
Directions:
Bring chicken broth to a boil. Add the noodles and reduce heat to a low boil. (It will look like there is a lot more broth than noodles, but it will thicken up as the noodles start to soften and break down.)

Cut the chicken into cubes. Melt 1 stick of butter in skillet. Add the chicken to the butter and sprinkle heavily with garlic salt. Saute until chicken is fully cooked, but not fried or crispy.

When the noodles are done (not chewy), add the chicken/butter mixture to the simmering noodles and broth. Make sure to lightly scrape the pan to get all the good stuff (butter).

Taste broth to see if it needs another stick of butter. (Vicki would tell you to add the stick of butter and then taste it to see if you needed more)

Keep an extra carton of broth on hand for rewarming. It will thicken dramatically when it cools.
The chicken and noodles are best paired with real mashed potatoes...a la Vicki. (See Mashed Potato recipe.)

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
This makes enough to feed an army or is perfect for a large family gathering. Vicki never cooked from a recipe, so these measurements are guesstimates from her daughter who helped her make it. Vicki always cooked it the good ol' stick to your bones type of way. She refused to make it once when all she had was unsalted butter. Never compromise on taste, she'd say. Eat with family and enjoy!
