2 egg whites unbeaten
1 1/2 cups sugar
5 tbsp cold water
1/8 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp corn syrup (or 1/8 tsp cream of tartar)

1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Place all ingredients except vanilla in double boiler over boiling water. Beat on low speed until blended. Then cook, beating constantly on high speed until mixture will stand in peaks. Remove from heat. Add vanilla and continue beating until of spreading consistency: 5-7 minutes.
