1 1/2 C. sugar
1 C. shortening
1 egg
1 orange (use pulp,juice and rind)
1 C. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
4 C. flour
1/4 tsp. salt

Frosting:
grated orange rind
about 3 C. powered sugar
1 stick butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. orange juice
Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients and drop by teaspoonful on greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes. Prepare frosting. Cool and frost.
