2 pkg. yeast
1 dozen eggs (set a side a little to brush on top of loaves)
1 lemon rind
1 orange rind
1 shot rum
2 cups sugar
3 tsp. anise seed (cleaned)
2 cups oil
4 1/2 lbs. flour sifted
1 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Add 1/2 cup water and 2 tsp sugar set in pot of hot water. Mix egg with a wooden spoon. Mix rind lemon and orange, rum, sugar, anise seed and oil. (Use extra water to rinse cup to get all of yeast.) Add flour and salt. Knead. Put in oiled pot and cover. Let rise until doubled. Cut into 5 pieces. Form balls. Replace all 5 in pot. Cover. Let rise until doubled. Braid. Brush with reserved egg. Place in greased and floured pans. Cover. Let rise. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes (brown on top and bottom).
