8 slices white bread, torn into pieces
3 eggs, slightly beaten
1 1/2 c. milk
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. flour
3 Tbsp butter, melted
1 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/8 tsp. nutmeg
(1/2 c. raisins - optional)

Directions:

Preheat oven to 350º. Combine all ingredients and pour into a greased 1.5 quart baking dish. Bake for 45-55 minutes, watching at the end to not burn the top. Allow to cool and set up, but cut into squares and serve while still warm. Makes about 4 servings.
