3 3/4 c sugar
1 1/2 c karo syrup
1 c water
1 tsp flavoring
food coloring
powder sugar

Directions:

butter plates and put in the freezer

Mix first 3 ingredients. Stir over med heat until sugar dissolves.

Boil without stirring until reaches 310º.

Remove, stir in flavor & coloring. Pour onto plates.

Let cool slightly. Use scissors to cut the edges of candy. Put cut candy into powdered sugar. Keep turning plates and cutting the edges into small pieces.

It usually takes two people to cut the candy. It cools very fast if you use plates that have been in the freezer. Be sure you butter the plates. Otherwise the candy will NOT come off the plates.
