3 cup Gold Medal Flour
1 1/3 cup sugar
2 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
2 tsp cinnamon
1 tsp nutmeg
1 cup orange juice
1 cup oil
4 eggs
1/4 cup dark corn syrup
2 cups raisins
1 (8 oz) pkg pitted dates, chopped
1 lb mixed candied fruits (2 cups)
1/2 lb pecan halves (2 cups)

Directions:

Heat oven to 275º. Line a tube pan with aluminum foil; grease. Mix all ingredients, except fruits and nuts, into a large bowl. Blend 1/2 minute on low speed, scraping bowl constantly. Beat 2 minutes on high speed, scraping bowl occasionally. Stir in fruits and nuts. Spread mixture evenly in pan. Bake 2 1/2 to 3 hours, or until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean. If necessary, cover with aluminum foil the last hour of baking to prevent excessive browning. Remove from pan; cool. Wrap in aluminum foil or plastic wrap; store in cool place.

Submitted in memory by daughter-n-law, Debbie Peery. My father-n-law made this fruitcake every year for Christmas, as far back as I can remember. Not sure where he got this recipe, but most of his recipes came from his cherished Betty Crocker cookbook.
