2 cups flour,
1 cup sugar,
3 T. cocoa,
1 T. cornstarch,
1 tsp. soda, not heaping,
1 tsp. cinnamon,
1/2 tsp. cloves,
1/2 tsp. nutmeg,
1/2 tsp. salt,
1 cup walnuts,
1 cup raisins,
1 1/2 cups cold applesauce,
1/2 melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Put all dry ingredients in sifter and sift twice, add raisins, nuts and applesauce and beat well. Last add melted butter and beat well. Bake in greased loaf pan at 325º for about 1 hour. Frost, if desired, with butter cream or cream cheese frosting. Top with finely chopped nuts.
