1 c. butter
1 c. light brown sugar
3 eggs, well beaten
1-1/2 c. molasses
6 c. flour
1-1/2 T. ginger
2 tsp. salt
1-1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. cinnamon

Cream butter; add sugar, egg, molasses, flour (mixed with dry ingredients). Chill, roll out and cut with cookie cutter. If they are to be used on cookie tree, thread clean string with darning needle through top before baking. Bake 350 degrees (about 10 minutes). Do not overbake. Make many cookies. Frost when cool with cornucopia or decorating tube. Frosting: Beat 1 egg white very stiff. Over this pour boiling syrup made from ¾ c. sugar and ¼ c. water, boiled until it spins a thread. Mix well and pipe onto cookies.
