Duncan Hines yellow cake mix or substitute your own scratch yellow cake.
½ cup chopped pecans.
Gold rum.
½ cup sugar.

Directions:
Directions:
1) Prepare cake mix per instructions substituting 3/4 of amount of called for water with an equal amount of rum + 1 shot.
2) Prepare bunt pan coating pan with shortening and flour and put pecans on bottom of pan. Add cake mix and bake as directed.
3) When cool, combine rum and sugar in pan and place on medium heat. Bring mixture to light boil making a syrup and reduce slightly. Heat slowly as a high heat could cause flare up.
4) Use skewer or long needle to poke holes into cake. Using basting brush apply rum syrup to cake. Use it all. Allow cake to rest for an hour and serve.
