1 C persimmon pulp
1 C sugar
2 Tbsp oil
1 Egg well beaten
1 C flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
2 tsp baking soda
1/2 C sweetened condensed milk
1/2 C chopped walnuts
1 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Press persimmon through sieve; add milk vanilla, sugar, oil, and egg. Sift flour with other dry ingredients, add alternately with milk and nuts. Pour into an 8 inch square pan.

Preheat oven to 325º Fill a 9 x 12 pan with 1 inch of water. Put square pan inside of larger pan, being careful not to splash water. Steam like custard in oven for 2 hours. Check water level at regular intervals.
