Directions:
Slice really cold butter into 16 slices or so (I freeze it for 5-10 minutes and slice both at once to save time. Add all ingredients except bits to food processor, layering 1/2 butter slices between sugar and flour and other 1//2 on top of flour. Process until a big lump forms. Add bits and place on parchment covered cookie sheet by the heaping teaspoon. Bake at 350º 10 minutes.

Personal Notes:
These rich, buttery cookies were a favorite of Mama's, Chandler's and mine. Really easy in the f.p., but you can make them the old fashioned way with a mixer or a strong spoon and arm. If you don't have parchment paper, use Pam on the cookie sheet. But next time, buy the parchment and you don't even have to wash the cookie sheet. I store my cookie sheets with the parchment on top in my extra oven. I am able to use them to or three times before discarding (the parchment not the cookie sheet.)
