Ingredients:
Ingredients:
5 c. flour
1/2 c. sugar
1 T baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 c. shortening
2 c. buttermilk
1/4 c. warm water
2 packages yeast (4 1/2 tsp.)
melted butter

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in warm water. Stir together dry ingredients. Cut the shortening with a knife into the dry ingredients. Combine yeast and buttermilk, then add to dry ingredients. Knead the dough into a ball making sure all the flour is stirred in. Cover with paper towel and let rise at least one hour. If I am short on time, I have turned the oven on and heated it to 100º then placed the bowl in the oven and turned it off. This will help the dough to raise faster. Roll out on floured bread board. Cut with round cutter, I use the rim of a large glass for mine. Brush with melted butter and fold in have so you have a taco shell shape. Bake on an air bake cookie sheet in a 400º oven for 15 to 20 minutes or until golden brown. Enjoy!
