1 c. (2 sticks) butter
1 c. sugar
2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 egg yolk
1 egg white (for topping)
finely chopped & ground pecans (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350º. Cream together butter & sugar. Add egg yolk, mix thoroughly. Add flour & cinnamon. Roll dough into a log approximately 1 1/2-2 in. in diameter. Chill dough log in refrigerator. Slice log into 1/4 in. pieces. Place on baking sheet. Brush egg white across center of each cookie. Sprinkle with extra cinnamon. Sprinkle finely ground pecans & pecan pieces over cinnamon & egg white (optional). Bake 15-20 minutes. Watch carefully.
