3 quarts water
1 quart vinegar
1 cup salt
1/8 tsp. alum
cucumbers
2 heads of dill
red peppers(as many as desired)
2 cloves garlic

Directions:
Directions:
boil water,vinegar,salt,
put one head of dill in bottom of jar with garlic, and red peppers
fill jar with cucumbers and add the other head of dill on top
pour boiling brine in jar up to rim,put on lid and ring and tighten jar.

This is the best memory of Grandma Berg, her dill pickles! you can also put small carrots in the jar.
