1 lb. lentils,
1 lb. red beans,
1 chopped onion,
1 T. chopped garlic,
1/2 tsp. chipotle powder,
1 tsp. cumin,
1 quart chicken, beef or vegetarian broth.

Directions:
Directions:
Cook lentils and beans separately until tender as directed. (Soaking beans first before cooking) add remaining ingredients in soup pot. Simmer 45 minutes. Blender 1/2 of soup until smooth recombine with remaining soup. Adjust seasoning.
Serve hot in soup bowl over piece of hot corn bread topped with shredded cheddar cheese.
