3 cups all-purpose flour
2 ½ tablespoons sugar
4 ½ teaspoons baking powder
¾ teaspoon salt
¾ teaspoon cream of tartar
¾ cup margarine
¾ cup milk
1 egg, lightly beaten

Directions:
Directions:
Sift together into a bowl the flour, sugar, baking powder, salt and cream of tartar. Add margarine. Blend mixture until it resembles coarse meal. Then stir in egg and milk. Turn dough onto cutting board, kneading lightly 5 strokes. Roll into a thick round and cut with biscuit cutter. Bake 10 to 15 minutes in 425 degree oven.
