2 lbs ground beef
1 medium onion
1 qt. home canned tomatoes
1can tomato sauce or small tomato paste
2 cans dark red kidney beans (rinsed and drained)
1 t. beef base
2 T chili powder
1/4 t dried chiles
salt,pepper, and garlic

Directions:

Brown ground beef with onion and drain..
Add the rest of the ingredients. Add 2 cups water or beef stock. Simmer at least one hour, more is good.
Taste often for seasoning...

We all make chili different, the ingredients are just a guide. Since I don't can anymore, I use store canned tomatoes...they don't taste as good..Wayne loves chili served on rice.
