1/2 c. crisco shortening
1 1/2 c brown sugar, packed
1 tsp salt
1 tsp cinnamon
1/4 tsp nutmeg
1/4 tsp ground cloves
1 large egg
2 c. flour
1 tsp baking soda
1/4 c. milk
1 c. finely chopped apple
1 c. chopped walnuts
1 c. raisins

Icing ingredients:
1 c. powdered sugar
1 tsp vanilla
1 T. melted butter
1 1/4 T. hot milk
Directions:
Directions:
Combine flour and baking soda, set aside. In a large mixing bowl, combine shortening, brown sugar, salt, spices, milk and egg. Beat until fluffy. Add flour mixture and mix well. Stir in apples, walnuts and raisins. Drop by tablespoon 1 inch apart on a greased cookie sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 10-12 minutes. Frost while warm with vanilla glaze.

To make glaze: Add sugar, vanilla, butter to warm milk. Stir until smooth.
