2 c. sugar
1 c. butter
1 Tbsp. milk
4 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add beaten eggs and mix well. Add dry ingredients with milk. Roll in little balls and place on a greased cookie sheet. Mash balls down with a fork that has been dipped in milk. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes or until edges are brown.

Patsy's note: I refrigerate the dough and use it for rolled cookies. It's a family tradition to use Granny's cookie recipe for Christmas cookies.
