2 cups All Bran or 100% Bran cereal
2 cups Shredded Wheat cereal
1 cup shortening
1 cup boiling water

Add:
3 cups sugar
2 teaspoons salt
4 eggs
1 cup dates (cut)
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
1 cup raisins
1/2 teaspoon baking powder
4 1/2 teaspoons baking soda
1 quart buttermilk
5 1/2 cups flour
