Ingredients:
Ingredients:
Crust: 2 cups flour
1 cup Butter Flavor Crisco
5 Tbsp. (approx.) ice water
Pinch of salt
Pie: 3/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/2 tsp. ground nutmeg (fresh ground is best)
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
dash of salt
6 cups applies
2 Tbsp. margarine

Directions:
Directions:
Put the crust ingredients (except water, which I add a little at a time so I don't get too much) in a large bowl that has a tight fitting lid. Cut together with pastry cutter. When it's crumbly but before the shortening gets too mixed in, put the lid on and shake it in a circle until it forms into a ball. Divide into two parts and roll into 2 circles. Put bottom crust in 9" pie dish.
Peel, core, and cut the apples and add all the other ingredients in with the apples and stir till the apples are well coated. Pour the apples in the pie crust. Then take little pinches off the margarine and dot top of pie before you put on the top crust. Put on top crust, seal edges, and cut some decorative vent lines. Brush crust with a little milk and sprinkle with sugar. Bake for 40-50 minutes at 400º.

Personal Notes:
We like to double the pie crust recipe. Then, with the extra crust, lay out rolled scraps on a cookie sheet and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar and bake at 400 for approx. 10 minutes. We call them crusties.
