6 qt. popped popcorn (remove all unpopped hulls)
1 c. butter or margerine
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. light corn syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. soda
1 tsp. vanilla
10 to 12 oz nuts (planters dry roasted or cashews, pecans) OPTIONAL

Directions:
In medium saucepan, melt together butter, corn syrup, brown sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil, stirring constantly; this scorches easily. Reduce heat; boil for 5 minutes. Remove from heat; stir in vanilla and baking soda. This mixture will foam. Blend well; pour over popped corn, coating well. Spread on 1 large cookie sheet and bake at 250º for about an hour, stirring every 15 minutes. Allow to cool and break apart and store in an airtight container.
