2 c. sugar
1 c. shortening
3 eggs, beaten stiff
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. soda
3 tbsp. vinegar
2 tsp. baking powder
pinch of nutmeg
1 tsp. vanilla
4 c. flour

Directions:
Directions:
Mix ingredients in order given. Roll out cookies thin and cut in circles. Put spoon of filling on top. Cover with another circle. Bake at 350º for 10 minutes.
Filling: 1 lb. raisins
Cover raisins with water in saucepan. Cook until tender - thicken with flour.
