1½ c. White Flour
½ tsp. Salt
½ c. Butter
½ c. Brown Sugar
1 tsp. Vanilla
2 tbsp. Milk
¼ c. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips, chopped
¾ c. Powdered Sugar

Filling:
¾ c. Semi-Sweet Chocolate Chips
1 tbsp. Shortening
2 tbsp. Karo Corn Syrup
1 tbsp. Water
1 tsp. Vanilla

Cookie:
Blend butter, brown sugar and vanilla.
Add flour and salt, milk and chopped chocolate chips. Batter will be crumbly.
Form into 1 " balls (the warmth of your hands help shape them into balls.)
Place on ungreased cookie sheet and make impression with your thumb in the center of the ball.
Bake at 375º for 10 -12 minutes.


Put powdered sugar in a paper bag. While cookies are WARM, shake cookies gently in bag (they will break if you shake them too hard). Do just a few at a time.

Filling:
Melt chocolate chips and shortening on low heat.
Add corn syrup, water and vanilla.
Stir until smooth.

Fill centers of cookies using a regular teaspoon.
The filling hardens quickly, so work fast. You can keep the filling on the stove (low heat) while you work to help prevent the filling from hardening.
