2 squares semi-sweet chocolate
1/4 c. butter
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp.salt
powdered sugar

Directions:
Directions:
Melt chocolate in double boiler. Remove from heat and beat in sugar, eggs and vanilla. Add flour, baking powder and salt. Chill batter well. Form large marble size balls and roll balls in powdered sugar. place on greased cookie sheet and bake in 400º for 8 minutes.

My great aunt Ellie's recipe, made every year at Christmas by my mother. One of my earliest childhood memories is of helping to make these wonderful cookies. I continue to make them every year with Henry, Elizabeth and Sarah-Hayes!
